Dashboards organize the information your team reviews most often. You can use them on deal, pipeline, company, personal, and shared dashboard surfaces. Admins can manage dashboard templates from SettingsDashboards. Access depends on your role and your organization’s configuration.

Edit a dashboard

Dashboard editing has two separate controls:
  • Add widget opens the widget gallery. Compose a new Data or Research widget, or choose a ready-made widget from the context-specific library.
  • Edit layout changes how widgets appear. Use it to move, resize, or remove widgets.
On an empty dashboard, the widget gallery opens automatically. When you compose a widget, Metal opens the docked chat so you can refine it while Metal builds it.

Add a widget

  1. Open the dashboard you want to change.
  2. Click Add widget. The gallery opens automatically if the dashboard is empty.
  3. Choose a ready-made widget under Examples, or compose a new widget.
  4. To compose a widget, choose Data or Research, describe what you want to see, and click Create widget.
  5. Use the docked chat to answer clarifying questions or refine the widget after it appears.
Available library widgets depend on the dashboard context. Custom widgets can also depend on your organization’s rollout and permissions. If you cannot add a widget or do not see the dashboard editing surface, contact your Metal team.

Update existing widgets

When you open Edit layout, you can rearrange supported dashboards and remove widgets that are not protected defaults. Some default widgets are managed by Metal and cannot be edited directly. Read-only widgets show an eye icon in their header instead of a pencil icon. You can inspect their source, but you cannot edit it. If a default widget has an update available, use Update default widgets.
